Make-up for Beginner part II

EYES

There are so many options for the eye makeup. Eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, fake lashes, etc. But mascara is a great first-makeup product to try as they make such a big difference in your eyes. Mascara will open up your eyes, and make your lashes look fuller. Untuk sehari-hari kuliah atau pergi aku juga biasanya cuma pakai mascara. Karena mascara bikin muka langsung fresh & nggak kayak bangun tidur!

Finding the right mascara might be tricky, karena tipe bulu mata setiap orang beda-beda. Ada yang tebal tapi pendek, panjang tapi tipis, lentik, lurus, dan lain-lain. Personally aku suka mascara yang bikin tebal, panjang, lentik dan waterproof (byk mau) biar kalau wudhu nggak beleber kemana2

Oh and don’t forget a lash curler! For me eyelash curler is a must, kalo nggak pemakaian mascaranya jg nggak akan maksimal. Penjepit bulu mata fungsinya biar bulu mata km jadi lebih lentik, otomatis keliatan jadi lebih panjang. Lash curler favoriteku dari Shiseido

Another great lash curler is from Shu Uemura, harganya 200-300an kalau nggak salah, lupa precisenya berapa. Menurutku, beli eyelash curler mendingan sekalian yang agak mahal tapi bagus aja.. Karena kan dipakai tiap hari, dan akan tahan lama juga. So its quite an invesment. Daripada beli yang murah-murah terus rusak, hasilnya nggak maksimal atau sakit dipakai

Splurge

1. Hypnose by Lancome

This one is hands down the best mascara I've used! Semua range hypnose baguss menurutku, dari hypnose drama, hypnose doll eyes, sampai hypnose star. This mascara got everything you want in a mascara! Lengthens, seperates, gives great volume, holds the curl, and never smudges. Ini personal favorite mama & kakaku juga. Karena emg bagus dan kalau wudhu nggak bikin jd racoon.. item2 bawah mata hehehehe. The ONLY downside itu harganya… </3 terakhir aku check di sogo ps harganya 415 ribu, hiks

2. Loreal 4D Lash Architect Mascara

I've gone through so many tubes of this mascara. Mascara ini menurut aku mirip-mirip hypnose lancome, dengan harga yang lebih murah (180 ribu-an kalau nggak salah), mascara ini bikin bulu mata jd lentik dan panjang tp nggak begitu tebel & berlebihan, jadi natural untuk sehari-hari. It doesn’t clump the lashes, and holds the curl. Nggak se waterproof hypnose tapi nggak smudge parah kok. I cant recommend this enough to my friends! 

3. Maybelline Hyper Curl Volum Express Mascara

Mascara ini alternative paling murah & gampang ditemuin karena ada di indomaret2 hahaha.. Waktu itu lg iseng nyoba di counter maybelline, eh ternyata baguuss karena beneran bikin lentik, tahan lama & waterproof. Harganya 54ribu aja kalau nggak salah. So if you're on a budget, this one is the way to go!

To apply mascara, tilt your head back jadi agak danga, ini untuk menghindari mascara kena eyelids kamu. Lalu brush mascaranya di zigzag from roots to tips.. di zigzag ke kanan-kiri, make sure you get every lash! kalau mau bulu mata-nya kelihatan lebih tebal, hold mascara brush as close as possible to base of lashes, and wiggle it as you move it up through the lashes. Jangan hanya dengan gerakan lurus karena nanti hasilnya tipis dan nggak coat seluruh mata dengan mascara

Quick tips: 1. Mascara itu pada umumnya expirednya 3 bulan, lebih dari itu sebaiknya di buang

2. Setiap pemakaian mascara, jangan sering keluar-masukin wand mascaranya untuk ngambil product, karena itu bikin angin masuk ke dalam tubenya dan bisa bikin mascara km cepet kering. If you want more product, di puter aja wand mascaranya, jadi pakai sisi yang masih ada productnya

3. Kalau mascara kamu kering/ agak menggumpal, jgn lgsg dibuang! rendam di air hangat untuk bikin formulanya more liquid-y & loosen the products from the sides so you can use every last bit

4. Kalau bulu mata kamu stubborn dan gak mempan ataupun tahan lama pas di jepit bulu mata, angetin eyelash curler km sebentar aja pakai hair dryer, (inget, sebentar aja ya! Di tes ke tangan tingkat kepanasannya, jgn sampai kepanasan) baru pakai penjepit bulu mata seperti biasa. Dijamin bulu mata km bakal lentik sepanjang hariii hehehe…

5. For a clump free lashes, use a lash comb after applying mascara

6. Remove any mascara smudges with a make-up remover and cotton bud

7. Jangan buang mascara kamu yang udah habis! instead, clean the brush and you can use it to comb your eyebrows. Ta-da! a free-spoolie for you

EYEBROWS

The eyebrow game is so strong right now! Sejujurnya, aku nggak merasa jago dalam per-alis-an karena aku pun baru ngapa-ngapain alisku itu pas awal masuk kuliah. Itu juga cuma dirapihin bulu2 halus sekitar alis, nggak diisi atau apa. Tapi baru-baru ini aku baru iseng isi dikit-dikit.

Ada banyaaaaak bgt options product untuk alis. Mulai dari pencil, powder, gel, mascara, mousse, markers dll. Untuk pemula, aku recommend pencil, powder, atau mascara aja.

These are some of the easiest eyebrow product to use that I recommend:

1. NYX Eyebrow Cake

Nyx eyebrow cake ini bagus karena isinya udah lengkap, ada angled brush sama spoolie kecil, dan ada waxnya juga. Tapi aku biasanya pakai angled brush lain yang wandnya lebih panjang (no 2 di atas) for easier application. Untuk pakai alis, pertama pakai waxnya biar alis kamu stay in place dan tahan lama, terus ambil brush, pegang diujung kuas (for less pressure) with a light hand, di tekan pelan2 aja, gambar bulu-bulu alis, mengikuti bentuk asli alis kamu. Kalau kamu ngerasa ketebelan, brush with a spoolie brush to diffuse and soften the colour. Cara ini nggak hanya untuk eyebrow powder, tapi juga pencil

Sebenernya nggak harus nyx eyebrow cake ini juga gakpapa, any matte brown/ taupe eyeshadow will do the job!

3. Benefit Gimme Brow

Product ini adalah mascara alis, yang ada microfibernya. So when you brush the wand through, it instantly thickens and gives your brows a shape, without looking unnatural. Jadi nebelin alis kamu tanpa harus repot-repot pakai banyak product, tinggal disisir aja di alis kamu. It is fail-free, so quick and easy to use. Perfect for a beginner!

Quick tips: 1. Walaupun rambut kamu item banget banget, jangan pakai warna hitam untuk alis. Karena hasilnya bakal nggak natural, even if you have black brows, you want to fill them in with a dark brown or gray, not black. Unless you want the black sharpie brows or sinchan inspired eyebrows hahaha

2. Set your eyebrows with a clear mascara to help them stay in place & last longer

3. Kalau kamu salah isi alisnya, just fix it wih a cotton bud!

4. To shape your brows, i recommend threading at professional brow salon, kalau untuk pertama kali banget jangan sendiri, takutnya salah.. Karena mereka kan lebih berpengalaman dan tau eyebrow shape yang natural dan bagus di wajah kamu gimana

LIPS

And now to the most exciting part, the lips! Lips are the area where you can have a bit more fun as a beginner since it doesn’t take much techniques to apply a lipstick. However, you should be extra careful with the colors and the finish that you pick. You don’t want to get something that just makes you really scary. For a beginners, I’d recommend to test out some lighter or nude colors first, as darker colors are a bit more tricky in terms of application.

Untuk lippies sekarang udah banyak bgtttt kan jenisnya. Dari liptint, lipstick, lipcream, lipgloss, lip liner, lip plumper, lip paint, dll. Finishnya juga macem2, dari mulai glossy, satin, matte (yang lagi hits sekarang :-P), dan sebagainya.

Kalau untuk daily, atau mungkin kamu masih SMA, aku recommend liptint aja karena hasilnya paling natural.. dulu favorit aku sih yang dari face shop, warnanya red-orange gitu. Dari etude/ skinfood juga bagus. Ada banyak bgt optionsnya dimana-mana

Quick tips: 1. Jangan lupa untuk selalu exfoliate dan pakai lipbalm sebelum pakai lipstick supaya bibirnya nggak kering. A chapped lips is never cute.. hehe!

2. Kalau mau lipstick lebih tahan lama & warnanya lebih keluar, use a lipliner to line and fill in your lips before you apply any lipstick. Ini sekaligus untuk menghindari lipstick yg smudging & bleeding lips. My favourite nude lipliner is "Nude" from Nyx
