Dupe Alert! Limecrime vs La Splash Review & Swatches

Matte Liquid lip creams are so in right now, thanks to Kylie Jenner. Out of all the lipcreams that i have, Velvetines by Limecrime are by far the best one in terms of formula & packaging. Lime crime is definitely the brand that started the liquid lipstick craze.. In this blog post i want to share my thoughts, and tell you the comparison between Limecrime Velvetines in Riot, and LA Splash in Latte Confession. If you search all over internet for Riot's dupe, you'll find that Latte confession is the closest one. But is it really? Lets found out down below...

Product breakdown, lets start with the Limecrime one.

Product description: Earthy, muted red a.k.a "marsala". Texture of a rose petal... in a bottle! Velveteen go on liquid, but dry matte. Touch proof, transfer-proof and utterly addictive. 

Riot adalah lip cream limecrime kedua yang aku punya setelah Red Velvet. Warna-warna Limecrime Velvetines ada banyak but they all are very bold, bright, statement lip colors. Jadi aku juga nggak begitu tertarik untuk ngoleksi, daripada nggak dipakai. In my opinion, Riot is the only shade in the entire line thats wearable, regardless of skin tone. So far yang aku pingin dan belum punya itu yang Wicked. Tapi sold out dimana-mana dan susah di cari. hiks.. 

This liquid lipstick comes in a frosted plastic tube with doe-foot applicator. I love the packaging, it feels like a high quality packaging jadi kalau (amit-amit) jatoh, nggak langsung pecah dan bleber kemana-mana. It came with a box, unlike the La Splash.

This is the most comfortable product I've used in the category of "Liquid Lipsticks". I've previously used the Stila liquid lipsticks, Sephora, MUA, LA Splash, Borjouis, and the Lime Crime one seems much thinner in consistency, smoother, and comfortable on my lips. Warnanya pigmented banget, you don't need any lipliner. Sekali di usap warnanya langsung keliatan opaque.. Pertamanya bener-bener liquid, lalu kering jadi super matte & velvety (hence the name). Nggak kerasa tebal atau sticky sama sekali. Rasanya lightweight dan kayak nggak pakai apa-apa. Doesn't settle into lines, or crack throughout the day. Tahan lamaa banget, even setelah makan nggak perlu reapply lagi, kecuali makanan berminyak ya. Liquid lipstick ini juga wangiii.. it smells like cake batter/ caramel pudding which i love. Compared to LA Splash, Limecrime velvetines were easier to remove. Something to keep in mind: you need to exfoliate your lips first before you apply this, karena kalau bibirnya kering pas pakai ini akan kelihatan banget.

The sponge applicator makes it easy to apply. You really need very little since its so pigmented and watery. 

On to the dupe, LA Splash in Latte Confession

I got this lip cream last month, its featured in my May Makeup Haul. I loveee this lip cream, Its a rosy mauve colour thats flattering on every skin tone. Just like any other liquid lipsticks, it dries to a matte finish in about 45 seconds after application. It feels a little tacky & thick on my lips. Not that its extremely uncomfortable or anything, but in this case, i like the Limecrime better. It has a scent which reminds me of painting. This liquid lipstick stays ALL DAY.. Lebih long lasting dibandingkan Riot. It doesn't smudge, doesn't smear, waterproof, kiss proof  touch proof, anything you name it! This product is really hard to take off, but oil based makeup remover was able to remove it quickly. I love how you can see the true colour from the packaging (but still, packaging Limecrime lebih lucu untuk dibawa kemana2 hehehe). The doe-foot applicator is slightly smaller than the Limecrime one, and i like the LA Splash a little better since it makes a more precise application.

Dari segi warna, Latte Confession sedikit lebih gelap dibanding Riot, Riot agak lebih orange sedangkan Latte Confession lebih mauve. But they look very similar on the lips.

Di online shop, harga lime crime sekitar Rp.350.000-400.000, sedangkan LA Splash Rp.150.000-180.000

I personally think this is a great dupe! Kalau di bibir warnanya lebih mirip. Any of these liquid lipstick is a must have in my makeup bag. Menurutku dua-duanya punya kelebihan dan kekurangan masing-masing. They're both VERY pigmented & opaque. I recommend them both, depends on your budget. Kalau kamu ada budget lebih, i suggest you to go for the Limecrime Riot, since it smells better & more comfortable on the lips. Sedangkan kalau budget kamu terbatas & pingin liquid lipstick yang 100% touch proof, go for the LA Splash.
